What is Reiki?

Reiki is a Japanese relaxation and stress reduction technique that also promotes healing. These techniques have been practiced for thousands of years, and became widely known in Japan in the 1900's due to the work of Dr. Mikao Usui. Dr. Usui's technique was brought to the U.S. in 1938 by his student, Mrs. Hawayo Takata. Today, like many holistic therapies, Reiki is very common in the East and is ever-growing in popularity in the West.Reiki works with body's energy and can be done with the receiver of the treatment fully clothed.
